Debt collection from individuals is one of the important legal procedures that requires following the correct steps according to Saudi regulations.
The process begins with amicable collection attempts through direct communication with the debtor and giving them an appropriate grace period for payment ranging from 15-30 days.
In case of non-response to amicable collection, a formal legal notice is sent specifying an additional grace period for payment ranging from 30-60 days.
The notice must include debt details, the amount due, and the due date.
If payment is not made within the deadline specified in the notice, a lawsuit is filed before the competent court.
This lawsuit includes submitting all documents proving the debt such as contracts, receipts, and invoices.
After the court judgment is issued, it is executed through the competent authorities such as the Execution Court to ensure debt collection.
Execution methods include seizing funds, properties, or salary.
